

Kyla Johnson is a graduate of Valdosta State University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences. She is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health with a certificate in Epidemiology at Ohio University. Her academic journey reflects a strong interest in public health, particularly in behavioral health, community health, and health assessment and surveillance.
Professionally, Kyla works as a chemical laboratory technician, where she gathers both qualitative and quantitative data—an experience that has strengthened her skills in attention to detail, critical thinking, and diligence. She is also known for her positive outlook and ability to motivate those around her, fostering a collaborative and productive environment where goals are met with both professionalism and enthusiasm. While at Valdosta State, she was an active member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., both of which allowed her to engage in meaningful service. Through Tau Beta Sigma, she supported music and band-related initiatives, while Alpha Kappa Alpha provided opportunities to serve the broader Valdosta community.
Outside of her academic and professional commitments, Kyla enjoys a balanced life filled with reading, trying new activities, taking well-deserved naps, and spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about using her skills, education, and experiences to contribute to the improvement of community health and well-being.
